Terms of Service

To use JDIO you must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be a current university student or university alumnus/alumna.
• Have a valid university email address or be able to verify your status.
• Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable law.

By creating an account you represent and warrant that all of the above are true. We reserve the right to verify your eligibility at any time and to suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@jdio.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may not create more than one account, create an account on behalf of another person, or use automated means to create accounts.

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
• Harass, threaten, bully, or abuse other users.
• Send unsolicited commercial messages or spam.
• Post nudity, sexually explicit content, or violent material.
• Use the Service to solicit money from other users.
• Impersonate any person or entity.
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service without written permission.
• Attempt to circumvent any security measure or access any part of the Service you are not authorized to access.
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination, and may be reported to law enforcement where required.

"User Content" means any text, photos, videos, or other material you submit through the Service. You retain ownership of your User Content, but by submitting it you grant JDIO a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to your User Content and that it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

We may remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable at our sole discretion, without notice.

JDIO uses email verification and, for certain badge tiers, manual ID review to confirm university affiliation. Submitting a false or altered document to obtain a verification badge is a material breach of these Terms and may constitute fraud. Verified badges are non-transferable and may be revoked at any time.

JDIO offers optional premium features available through a subscription or one-time purchase ("Premium"). Payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms. All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as outlined in the relevant app store's refund policy.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You may manage or cancel your subscription through your App Store or Google Play account settings.

The JDIO name, logo, app design, and all content produced by JDIO (excluding User Content) are the exclusive property of JDIO and its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any JDIO-owned material without prior written consent.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. JDIO DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

JDIO is a platform for connecting users and is not responsible for the conduct, online or offline, of any user. Meeting other users in person is at your own risk. Always exercise caution and good judgment.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JDIO AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL JDIO'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO JDIO IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which JDIO is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement of intellectual property rights.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you via the app or the email on your account. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
